More control over the same Sudoku puzzle
Use Restart to try the same starting grid again, or Share puzzle to copy a link for a friend. Fill notes adds the candidates allowed by the current entries; Undo and Redo let you compare your own deductions. The small count on each number shows how many remain to place. You can hide the timer in Game settings and see your locally saved completion records in My progress.
Classic 9 × 9 Sudoku for adults and beginners
A classic grid has 81 cells, arranged in nine rows, nine columns and nine boxes. The starting clues define the puzzle; your task is to complete the empty cells without repeating a digit in any unit. Choose easy Sudoku for beginners, medium Sudoku puzzles, hard Sudoku puzzles or expert and extreme Sudoku to match the techniques you want to practise.
Sudoku with hints and answers
Use Hint for help with one logical step while you play. If you want ready-made puzzles and a separate solution sheet, create Sudoku puzzles with answers. For a puzzle copied from a book or newspaper, enter its clues in the 9 × 9 Sudoku solver.
Choose your next challenge
Start with Easy to practise the rules. Medium adds more deduction. Hard and Expert give experienced players room to think. Switch difficulty whenever you are ready.
How each level is rated
Every puzzle is solved step by step by a logical solver before it is published. The level comes from the hardest technique it needed, not from the number of clues: Easy needs only singles, Medium needs locked candidates, Hard needs pairs or triples, and Expert needs techniques such as the X-wing.
How to play Sudoku
Fill each row, column and 3 × 3 box with the numbers 1 to 9, using each number once. Select an empty cell, then choose a number. Notes help you track possibilities. The full guide on how to play Sudoku walks through a first move.
